World of Warcraft players will only have a few more months to use the mobile Companion App on iOS and Android, as Blizzard announced that the free app will be retired soon. The World of Warcraft Companion App, launched in 2018 by combining the Mobile Armory and Legion Companion apps, will no longer be supported when The War Within is released in Fall 2024.

However, players can chat with their Battle.net friends and communities via the free Battle.net mobile app. But until the companion app is fully retired, World of Warcraft players can still use it during and after the release of Patch 10.2.7, Dark Heart. This new content update will introduce a story that will bridge the gap between Dragonflight and The War Within, and give the draenei and the trolls a heritage armor quest to complete.

I wonder how many people actively use the Companion App for World of Warcraft.

It was nice to offer a free service. Likely people might stick to playing on their PC instead and it's only a slight inconvenience to the playerbase.
